Message from the Chair of Governors re: Early Closure 26.6.26

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing to inform you that, due to the forecast high temperatures expected tomorrow — reaching approximately 34°C in the afternoon, it will be necessary to shorten the school day in order to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our pupils and staff.

As a result:

  • Warren Junior School will close at 12:00 noon
  • Furze Infant School will close at 12:15 pm

I sincerely apologise for the disruption and inconvenience this early closure may cause. I have made this decision very reluctantly indeed, however, the health and safety of everyone in our school communities must take priority, particularly in extreme weather conditions.

I sincerely appreciate your understanding and support in helping the school community respond responsibly to these circumstances.

I am honoured to introduce myself as the Headteacher of Furze Infant School. I want to extend a heartfelt welcome to all our pupils and their families. Whether you are new to our school or have been with us for years, I am thrilled to have you as part of our school community. Together, we will create a nurturing and inspiring environment where every child can thrive and be challenged with an ambitious curriculum. 

At Furze, we believe in fostering a zest for learning and nurturing the unique talents of each pupil. Our dedicated team of teachers and staff are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment where your child can grow academically, socially and emotionally. 

Communication and collaboration between home and school are vital to the success of our children. I encourage you to stay engaged with your child’s education, participate in school events and share your thoughts and ideas with us. Together, we can create a positive and enriching experience.
